FIGHTER DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
"The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena" - Theodore Roosevelt. No truer words have been spoken about the science of boxing. Those who have stepped in the ring know this statement well. But in order to do so, you need to be well conditioned, both mentally and physically, and trained to be ready for war.
Our Fight Team is for all those interested in fighting, or for those who may not be interested in stepping in the ring for competition, but are interested in learning more to add value to the team, helping those who do train for competition. These training sessions are designed to learn the finer intricacies of boxing, not JUST how to punch. The science of boxing is to hit...and not get hit, with the latter being far more important for a fighters overall health, career, and longevity within the sport.
Every fighter is different, so we take an individualized approach to training each of our fighters within the team. We are able to assess and recognize their natural strengths and skills, while building up what were once weaknesses through properly implemented drills and programming. Head coach Matt O'Donnell has been in the fight game his entire life under the tutelage of the former boxing legend Jimmy Farrell, may he rest in peace. Matt's primary goal is to keep Jimmy's coaching philosophies alive, bestowing the knowledge to the next generation that was once bestowed on to him, building incredibly capable fighters in the process.
In addition to the weekly trainings, there is also opportunity for additional inter-gym sparring with other local facilities that Matt has built relationships with. Here, our fighters are able to test out their newly developed skills on other fighters in the area who are all training to improve and sharpen their skills.
